If no group exists in your course, you'll need to start by creating a group category.

Enter the name of your group category.

Choose the type of group enrolment*.
Indicate the number of groups or the number of students per group.roupe
Last important step: At the bottom of the page (in additional options), you'll find a field for configuring the dropbox (locker box). Each group will then be able to upload its work. See next step in this guide.

*Registration types:

Number of groups - No auto-enrollments : This option lets you set the number of groups you want. You'll have to enroll the students in each group yourself. This option is useful if you want to create very specific groups: balance between nationalities, genders, backgrounds, etc. Example: I want 5 groups.
Groups of # : This option lets you choose how many students you wish to have per group. Students are then automatically assigned to groups. Example: I want groups of 5 students
# of Groups : This option automatically creates the number of groups you want. Students are automatically assigned to groups. Example: I want 7 groups.
Groups of # - Self-enrollment : This option lets you choose how many students you wish to have per group. The term “Self-enrollment” indicates that it is the students themselves who enroll in the group. Example: I want groups of 5 students
# of Groups - Self-enrollment : This option automatically creates the number of groups you want. The term “Self-enrollment” indicates that it is the students themselves who enroll in the group. Example: I want 8 groups
# groups of # - Self-enrollment : This option lets you create the number of groups with the number of students you want. The students themselves register in the groups. Example: I want 5 groups of 4 students
